In other countries one needs to get up early to see the sunrise, in Reykjavik the run rises at 12 pm and you have 3 hours of daylight. Amazing experience.

At 17 pm my plane took off for New York, it was dark and I landed in John Kennedy airport at 18 pm. Local time of course, the flight lasted 6 hours and so was my day, I went to bed at 1am without having any kind of jet lag.

In two last days we did Manhattan, Brooklyn and Bronx, of course the subway was tested, and we then went to DC by rail. This is the only high speed line in the US, the train was quite good. Tomorrow I will stay in DC, and then move to Wild West.

Dont have time to answer the comments, sorry about that.

Washington is a Dortmund-like city if you know what I mean. Extremely clean, quiet and with Shakhtar Deco architecture. Capitol is accessible for the public, while White House is heavy fenced, there are a lot of Secret Service cars around.

Metro in Washington is completely different from New York subway, the stations interior is close to what you are used to see in Kyiv, also without that crappy marble. The fare system is fucked, you should pay while exiting the station. Fucking turnstile charged 2 bucks but didn't let me out. Then I tried to top up the metro card at the station, but the machine has eaten my card and there was no way to buy a new one. Like in Lisbon 3 years ago, I was about to stay under ground forever...

In the evening we went to a pub and were asked for ID. Of course, I dont carry one with me. So we went back to the hotel, I took my driving license and we went to another pub, where anyone didnt give a shit about our IDs.

Interesting fact about Washington: it is forbidden to chew gum in Air and Space Museum.
