Full body X-ray scanners at Washington Dulles airport are Orwellianly called "rapid scanners" while in fact they are damn slow, as they are in Moscow, and after passing the scanner an officer still does manual search (not just me, but everybody).

7 hours and a short stop in Dallas, passed two time zones and I'm now in El Paso Texas, GMT-7. This is a border town with predominantly Spanish speaking population, Mexico is just 100 meters ahead. I was convincing myself that I'm just not used to American food, so that I didnt like the taste of basically everything, but now we tried Mexican food, and it is fucking good. It tastes fucking good, just like in Europe, and they even have decent dark beer.

El Paso is quite multicultural, with pathetic colonial style buildings as well as traditional American style residential areas. It is not a tourist destination, but many buildings have information about their historical importance, both for Mexico and the US.

And it has a public transportation, which we used to get from the airport. Right now I see Mexico from the window and I hope I will get there tomorrow.
