So far we are now in Gallup, northern New Mexico and very close to Arizona which is our next destination for the nearest days.
Driving in New Mexico was comfortable at first: empty roads, no cars in front, no cars behind, deserty landscapes around with rocky mountains in background. This day we visited the ruins of Pueblo Indians settelements. In 17th century they were colonized by the Spanish and turned into Catholic faith.
At 17pm it started getting dark, we we driving north and suddelny flat desert turned into high rocky mountains. The road was a shitway, you shit in your pants while driving that curved mountain roads at night. Hopefully, mountains ended and we ended up on the Interstate highway 40, which was top quality and very flat in comparison to the autobahns in Bavaria. Both normal and car chargers of my GPS device had broken, so now we are using old school navigation: paper map and compass which is embedded in our car.
That's how we ended up in Gallup and spent the night here.
PS Nota bene, the titles of my postings are actual road and other signs here in America. Photos will follow later, no time for that now.
